The Accounting Specialist (Transport & Logistics) will manage all accounting functions related to the company's transport and logistics operations. This includes verifying and reconciliating carrier invoices, processing payments, preparing cost reports, and ensuring tax compliance. The ideal candidate will combine strong accounting expertise with knowledge of transport operations and freight invoicing.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Verify and reconcile carrier invoices with delivery records, trip logs, and contracts
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies
• Process payments and record transport expenses accurately in the ERP system
• Prepare transport cost reports, accruals and analysis
• Liaise with transport, warehouse, and finance teams
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations (VAT, WHT)
• Maintain accurate records and support audits

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4-6 years of accounting experience, with 2+ years in vendor reconciliation or logistics accounting
• Strong Excel and ERP skills (SAP/Oracle or similar)
• Knowledge of transport operations and freight invoicing
• Excellent English communication (spoken and written)
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and well-organized
• Experience in Uganda or East Africa is an advantage
