Uganda Martyrs' Hospital (UMH) Diocese of Jinja is a newly established state-of-the-art Private Not for Profit (PNFP) hospital in Jinja City, founded by the Trustees of the Catholic Diocese of Jinja under the Ecclesiastical Province of Tororo Archdiocese in Eastern Uganda. The hospital envisions clinical excellence with Christ-centered compassion, aiming to heal the body, mind and spirit while serving both affluent and vulnerable communities without discrimination, and is envisaged to be a teaching and research hospital offering quality and affordable Godly touch services.

About the Diocese of Jinja (https://dioceseofjinja.com): A faith-filled community established on 5 August 1966 serving Busoga through evangelization, education, healthcare and social services under the leadership of Archbishop Emmanuel Obbo A.J. (Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese). The Diocese runs 45 parishes, 45+ schools, 12 health centres and extensive community development programmes.

About Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau (UCMB) (https://ucmb.co.ug): The health office of the Roman Catholic Church in Uganda and technical arm of the Health Commission of the Uganda Episcopal Conference. UCMB coordinates the Catholic health network including 34 hospitals, 19 training schools, 4 laboratory training schools and 271 Lower Level Units with over 11,323 health workers, supporting curative, preventive and promotional services in line with national health policy. Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Access Control: Monitor entry points, verify identification, and control visitor access.
  • Patrols: Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure safety and security.
  • CCTV Monitoring: Monitor surveillance systems to detect and prevent security breaches.
  • Incident Response: Respond to emergencies, disturbances, and incidents promptly and professionally.
  • Theft Prevention: Prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access to hospital premises and property.
  • Reporting: Maintain detailed incident logs and submit reports to management.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with law enforcement when necessary to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

  • O-Level certificate (High School) required.
  • Experience in security, training in security operations, and a valid certificate of good conduct.
  • Minimum experience: 12 months in a security-related role.
  • Valid professional operation license where applicable and registered with relevant bodies (as per hospital recruitment general requirement).
  • Self-motivated, patient-centred and passionate with strong discipline, integrity and vigilance.
  • Ability to work 8-hour shifts, conduct patrols, monitor CCTV and handle emergency response.
  • Good communication, observation and reporting skills; ability to collaborate with health staff and law enforcement.
  • Must undergo reference checks and safeguarding screening in accordance with Diocesan recruitment policies.
