Assistant Teachers (2 Positions)

Job Details

Horizon International School Jinja is seeking 2 Assistant Teachers to support teaching and learning across subjects including English, Literature, ICT, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. This is a full-time position based at the Jinja campus at Plot 2-16 Scott Road, Walukuba, Jinja, Uganda. The role is suitable for fresh graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Education who are passionate about international Cambridge education and supporting lead teachers in classroom delivery.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in planning and delivering lessons in English, Literature, ICT, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
• Support classroom management and create an engaging, inclusive learning environment.
• Provide academic support to learners through small group and individual assistance.
• Assist with preparation of teaching materials, learning aids and laboratory/computer room setup where required.
• Support assessment, marking, record-keeping and reporting on student progress.
• Participate in school activities, events and continuous professional development.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education (fresh graduate encouraged to apply).
• Knowledge of subjects among English, Literature, ICT, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
• Passion for teaching and working with children and young people.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
