Branch Operations Manager

Overview

Housing Finance Bank, the leading provider of housing finance solutions in Uganda, is seeking a qualified, versatile, and self-driven Branch Operations Manager to join our Distribution & Alternate Channels department.

The role reports to the Branch Manager and is responsible for monitoring, coordinating, and implementing branch operations processes in line with regulatory frameworks and Bank policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Process customer instructions to achieve required customer service standards
• Develop strategies for eliminating incidents of fraud and forgeries
• Monitor non-performing assets/loans in arrears within operations procedures and Credit Policy
• Authorize cash transactions, back office and front-office postings within approval limits
• Generate periodic branch performance reports for senior management
• Monitor implementation of branch processes and procedures
• Check all bank transactions for accuracy and compliance with KYC procedures
• Plan, review and monitor staff development and performance initiatives
• Review and recommend Retail Banking loan and overdraft facilities
• Daily reconciliation of suspense accounts and monthly reporting
• Verify instruments for BoU clearing and supervise postings to BoU settlement account

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Marketing or Statistics
• Experience: At least 4 years of progressive experience in branch operations
• Skills: Good industry knowledge, leadership skills, customer focus, coordination and organizational skills
• High level of integrity and confidentiality
• Work Hours: 8 hours per day

Financial Responsibility

• Monitor branch staff leave to manage leave liabilities in terms of provisions
• Monitor non-performing assets and overdrawn accounts
• Monitor cost income ratio of the branch
