Advocate for Community Development and Environmental Protection (ACODEP) is recruiting for an upcoming multi-sectoral initiative focused on women’s participation in environmental peacebuilding, climate action, GBV/SGBV prevention, human rights protection, and environmental justice.

The Grants Officer will support the management of grants from application and contracting through implementation, monitoring, reporting, and close-out. This is a 1 Position | 2-Year Renewable Contract based in Kampala (Kampala). Work Hours: 8 hours. Salary: Not Disclosed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support grant-management processes and procedures.
  • Assist in preparing grant applications, budgets, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain accurate grant files and records.
  • Monitor grantee compliance with grant agreements and requirements.
  • Track grant deliverables, reporting deadlines, and expenditure.
  • Review grantee reports and supporting documentation.
  • Support monitoring visits and grant-performance assessments.
  • Identify compliance issues and escalate them appropriately.
  • Assist in preparing donor and management grant reports.
  • Support grant close-out processes.
  • Maintain a grants database and tracking system.
  • Provide technical support to partners and grantees on reporting and compliance requirements.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in grants management, donor compliance, or NGO programme administration is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and organisational skills.
  • Good understanding of donor-funded projects and reporting requirements.
  • Minimum experience of 12 months.
