Transportation Specialist

Twyford International Uganda is seeking a Transportation Specialist on a Full Time basis in Uganda (Logistics category). The role plans and coordinates daily transport schedules, optimizes routes, manages carriers, tracks shipments and ensures compliance with laws and safety standards while driving continuous improvement in transport operations. Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules
• Optimize routes and assign vehicles and drivers
• Manage carriers and negotiate service rates
• Track shipments and ensure on-time delivery
• Monitor transport costs and prepare reports
• Resolve issues: delays, damages, breakdowns
• Ensure compliance with laws and safety standards
• Drive continuous improvement in transport operations

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transport or related field
• 4-6 years' experience in transportation and logistics operations
• Strong knowledge of route planning, carrier management and shipment tracking
• Proficiency in TMS, GPS tracking and MS Office (Excel reporting)
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Good knowledge of Uganda and East Africa routes and customs procedures; strong problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills
• Valid driving permit is an advantage
