Job Details

One Acre Fund is seeking a Uganda Regional Innovations Supervisor (Fixed-Term) to support regional innovation and farmer impact at scale in Uganda. The role will be based in Jinja, Uganda and report to the Agronomy Lead. This is a 1-year fixed-term contract open only to citizens or permanent residents of Uganda, with a preferred start date as soon as possible. The position focuses on agronomy, extension work, field trials and training initiatives across coffee, trees and nurseries in eastern Uganda (Iganga, Jinja, Kamuli, Buikwe) with expansion to Central region. Benefits include health insurance and paid time off. Hiring is on a rolling basis until a hire is made.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify knowledge gaps, coordinate regional field trials, and manage data collection across the entire product lifecycle from ideation to rollout
  • Drive regional impact strategy by providing technical guidance to program teams and facilitating knowledge transfer
  • Design standardized data collection tools to scale new initiatives effectively
  • Conduct regular field visits to build fluency in operational contexts, understand longitudinal trends, and support farmer training sessions including nursery management
  • Support cross-departmental collaboration and assist with cross-functional product rollouts from ideation through execution
  • Contribute to extension work and training initiatives to improve impact across coffee, trees and nurseries
  • Support trial monitoring and innovation-driven agronomic improvements

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in agronomy, extension work, or climate-smart sustainable agriculture
  • Familiarity with scientific method, experimental design, and randomized controlled trials, plus foundational data analysis and statistics skills
  • Ability to synthesize and interpret qualitative and quantitative data into practical recommendations, with good report writing and communication skills
  • Some project coordination experience with good stakeholder collaboration and ability to follow through on tasks
  • Good judgment, creative problem-solving skills and ability to adapt quickly; interest in human-centered design and product development
  • Interest and ability to support training initiatives
  • Bachelor's degree required
